Chimeric Double Pendulum
The double pendulum swings chaotically. But never randomly.
This page is a work in progress! Chimeric Double Pendulum or just Chemeric Pendulum is a story that i would like to make into an RPG-horror style game. Please keep an eye out for it in the future. In the meantime feel free to read some of the character profiles and look at the concept sketches.
Darcy
A bitter 21 year-old student who wants nothing more than to get through his higher education with as little issues as humanly possible. Easily irritated and full of himself. He views most things outside of his control as great inconveniences.
At the beginning of his second college semester Darcy is approached about the possibility of his benefits and free education being revoked due to more and more students showing better results than him. He gets an offer to participate in the medical trials run by the research facility adjacent to the University for Extra Credit. Not wanting to lose what he has worked so hard for, Darcy decides to go for it, test his luck and ultimately sign his free will away to some freaks in lab coats.
The day after the dreaded medical trials he wakes up to his genetic code completely scrambled. A mess of animal limbs and a human mind. Or what’s left of it. His top priority now is to learn to live as a Chimera and somehow still get a degree (classes won’t attend themselves)

Roma
Roman – or Roma, for short – is Darcy’s classmate whom he has not met until the day he has been released to the public in his new twisted form. Apparently, Roma’s metamorphosis wasn’t done overnight, like Darcy’s. It was complete over several months of agony, changing flesh, fear and slow realization that his humanity is now gone for good.
All things considered he is a cheerful young man that takes his situation remarkably well. His “go with the flow” mentality often clashes with Darcy, who’s convinced that anyone who is okay with being in this situation must have gone mad.

Cecil
Another Chimera in Darcy’s class. Unlike him and Roma, Cecil has been a patchwork of animals and man since he was a child and therefore finds no discomfort in his predicament. His claws and fangs are as natural to him as teeth and fingernails are to anyone else.
Having grown up at the nearby research facility he has never been a part of regular human society and is awkward in conversation, often times missing cues and misinterpreting the situation.
